Cremation Society Of Indiana Price List
(All prices effective February 1, 2008 but are subject to change without notice).

T he goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy an item you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the goods and services you selected.


BASIC CREMATION CHARGE
Includes basic services of licensed professional and staff, removal of remains to our facility within 25 miles (beyond 25 miles there will be an additional charge of $ 2.50 per mile, one way), shelter of cremated remains, filing for necessary authorizations and permits, consultation and arrangements with family and other necessary parties, and the crematory fee. The Cremation Society of Indiana requires that a family member or someone designated by the family to identify the body prior to cremation.

CREMATION SERVICES
Use of Facilities and Staff For Memorial Service
In Our Chapel . . . . $650
Use our chapel as a place designated for family and friends to gather in remembrance of the deceased. Day and evening options are available and recorded or live music can be arranged. The cremated remains may or may not be present.
Use of Facilities and Staff For Funeral Service
In Our Chapel . . . . . . . $650
Use our chapel as a place designated for family and friends to gather in remembrance of the deceased. Day and evening options are available and recorded or live music can be arranged. Like a regular funeral service, the remains would be present and would be embalmed and in a casket of your choice. Cremation would follow. You may purchase a casket or container or provide your own.
Use of Facilities and Staff For A Visitation
In Our Chapel . . . . . . . . $650
Use of our facilities for family and friends to visit with each other and view the deceased prior to a service. Includes 3 hours of public visitation, and an hour for the family. Day and evening options are available and recorded or live music can be arranged. Like a regular visitation, the remains would be embalmed and presented in a casket of your choice. You may rent a casket, purchase one, or provide your own container. Embalming, other preparations and the casket are extra and listed below.

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming is not necessary for cremation to take place. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a public viewing. If you do not want embalming, you have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as a memorial service after cremation.

DISPOSITION OF CREMATED REMAINS
Release of Cremated Remains
Cremated remains will be held for 14 days following the cremation. They may be picked up by a family member during regular business hours. After the fourteen day period a storage fee will apply.
Careful Packaging and Shipment of Cremated Remains . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $65
Cremated remains are shipped via US Mail with a return receipt.
Many people want to place their cremated remains in a cemetery niche or columbarium or bury them in grave space they have already purchased. The Cremation Society of Indiana will help you work through these details. For those who would rather scatter their cremated remains, we can help you decide what is appropriate and legal.


CREMATION MERCHANDISE OPTIONS

Cremation Containers/Caskets . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . From $90 to $3,695
We have a number of cremation containers and caskets from which to select. The crematory requires that the body be placed in a rigid container. Our minimum container is made of a sturdy cardboard. Caskets are also available which have been specifically designed for cremation and are 98% to 99% combustible. These caskets are available in hardboard units(pressed wood) and a variety of wood species.

Cremation Urns . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . From $70 to $3,090
We have many urns available within a wider variety of price ranges. Some urns, called dual capacity or companion urns, are even designed to hold the cremated remains of two people. Many are appropriate to keep in the home, while others are specifically designed for burial. (Some cemeteries require an urn vault for burial). We also have keepsake urns avaulable for those who wish to divide cremated remains among several family members or scatter only a portion in "ceremonial" scattering while retaining a portion in some type of permanent memorial.

Memorial Stationary Collections . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $95-$195
May be used for funeral or memorial services. It includes a personalized register book and as many personalized memorial cards and acknowledgment cards as are needed.
Not included above are prices for certain items you may ask us to purchase such as cemetery charges, newspaper notices, clergy fees, music, floral arrangements and death certificates. These items are provided by third-parties and will vary under different circumstances.
