GENERAL INFORMATION: DISCLOSURES
Prices are effective as of MAY 1, 1998, but are subject to change without notice.
The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire, however, any arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the goods and services you select. The list does not include prices for certain items that you may ask us to buy for you, such as newspaper notices. The prices for those items will be shown on your bill or the statement describing the services and merchandise selected.
MEMBER RATES
1. Society Membership (one-time, non-refundable, fee): ... $25.00
Members receive a wallet sized membership card, a certificate of registration and are entitled to a membership rate for Society services.
This fee does not constitute a funded prearranged cremation plan.
2. Simple Cremation: .... $790.00 to $795.00
Our charges (without ceremony) include removal from place of death, administrative and staff services, preparation of the remains for cremation, refrigeration (up to 24 hour period), transportation to our crematory, cremation, temporary receptacle and filing of death certificate. ALLOW FIVE WORKING DAYS FOR A SIMPLE CREMATION.

plus Virginia mandated Medical Examiner Fee: ... $870.00
State and local laws do not require a casket for cremation.
If you want a simple cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are an alternative container (fiberboard box), a utility container (fiberboard and plywood box) and a cloth covered fiberboard box.
NON-MEMBER RATES

2. Professional Services:
A. Basic services of the Cremation Society and Staff: ... $465.00
This fee includes, but is not limited to: arrangement conference; coordination with crematory and/or cemetery for final disposition of the cremated remains; procurement, preparation and filing of necessary notices; general administrative expense; general overhead expenses, and governmental compliance. The fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the arrangement you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for simple cremations).

3. Automotive Equipment:

All Transportation charges are for Central Virginia; beyond 75 miles add $1.75 per loaded mile, per vehicle.
4. Memorial Services:
A. Equipment and Staff for memorial service: ... $225.00
Our staff will arrange a memorial service at a location such as a church, civic hall, or another location of your choice. A memorial service can be uniquely designed for a particular situation, or can follow traditional funeral lines. The charge for the memorial service includes a memorial package (register book, personalized memorial folders and acknowledgment cards), but does not include any fee which may be charged for use of a facility. We can also assist in procuring the services of clergy, soloists, organists or other musical accompaniment.
B. "Do-It Yourself" Memorial Package: ... $65.00
This option is available for families which wish to conduct their own private service. Package contains 50 printed thank you cards with matching envelopes, 100 memorial folders and one register book.
