Prices are effective as of MAY 15, 1996,but are subject to change without notice.
The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire, however, any arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the goods and services you select. The list does not include prices for certain items that you may ask us to buy for you, such as newspaper notices. The prices for those items will be shown on your bill or the statement describing the services and merchandise selected.

Members receive a wallet sized membership card, a certificate of registration and are entitled to a membership rate for Society services.
This fee does not constitute a funded prearranged cremation plan.
Our charges (without ceremony) include removal from place of death and transportation to crematory, administrative and staff services, preparation of the remains for cremation, refrigeration (24 hour period), cremation container, cremation, filing of death certificate and local delivery of cremated remains.
State and local laws do not require a casket for cremation.
If you want a simple cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The container we provide is an alternative container (fiberboard box).
Certain goods and services we provide may be furnished by a third party.
This fee includes, but is not limited to: arrangement conference; coordination with crematory and/or cemetery for final disposition of the cremated remains; procurement, preparation and filing of necessary notices; general administrative expense; general overhead expenses, and governmental compliance. The fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the arrangement you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for simple cremations).
Preparation of the remains for cremation.
All Transportation charges are for Central Virginia; beyond 75 miles add $1.75 per loaded mile, per vehicle.

Our staff will arrange a memorial service at a location such as a church, civic hall, or another location of your choice. A memorial service can be uniquely designed for a particular situation, or can follow traditional funeral lines. The charge for the memorial service includes a memorial package (register book, personalized memorial folders and acknowledgment cards), but does not include any fee which may be charged for use of a facility. We can also assist in procuring the services of clergy, soloists, organists or other musical accompaniment.
This option is available for families which wish to conduct their
own private service. The package contains 50 printed acknowledgment cards with envelopes, and one register book.
We do not offer embalming, caskets, rental caskets or any other type of cremation containers. Should you desire these goods or
services, you may arrange for or furnish this merchandise and/or services without our charging any additional fees. We will assist
you in procuring these goods and services, if requested. We do not charge extra for assisting you in procuring these goods and services.
A complete price list of Urns will be provided at the Cremation Society.

If you do not wish to purchase an urn, you will be provided a temporary receptacle for the return of the cremated remains. The temporary receptacle is constructed of cardboard and not suitable for permanent retention or mailing.
